Victory! EU Parliament rejects ACTA

Last Updated on 2022-07-08 by Joop Beris

In what can only be called a crushing defeat, the European Parliament decided today, around 1 PM to say “No” to ACTA! With a vote count of 478 against to 39 for ACTA, we can finally say that this insidious treaty is now dead.

Victory is ours!

Today, we have seen the rights and freedoms of the people of Europe prevail over corporate interests. This is a major victory! Of course we must remain vigilant against future treaties like ACTA but today, we celebrate!

Also, a major “thank you” goes out to all protesters, online and offline. Thank you for your time and effort. We beat ACTA together.
